ARVI (acute respiratory viral infection) rate for the period from October 1 to November 21, 2008.
For the period from October 1 to November 21, 2008 in the Republic 194 099 cases of ARVI were registered (1207.6 for the rate of 100-thousand population). Also one case of flu was registered in Kyzylorda oblast. 5820 patients with ARVI and flu diagnoses were hospitalized. 16 virology laboratories of the sanitary-epidemiological expertise Centers are working at laboratory deciphering of aetiological structure of ARVI and flu causative agents. For the epidemiological season 136 flu and ARVI patients were examined by virology method. 843 blood serums were examined by serological and luminescent microscopy methods. Positive results were not revealed. According to projection of the Republic sanitary-epidemiological station, which is a Center corresponding with WHO on flu problems, ARVI and flu morbidity will be increased from December to February inclusive and reduction of epidemic process intensity – in March-April of 2009 inclusive.
A great significance in flu prevention has vaccination. In tote in the Republic 549.9 million tenge was given for acquisition of flu vaccine, including 312.7 thousand tenge – from local budget’s means. In tote 450 451 people were vaccinated, including 198 162 people – for means of a local budget, 88 794 people – on paid basis, 163 495 people – by line of sponsoring assistance. For prevention and reduction of morbidity in forthcoming epidemical season the Ministry of Public Health has approved the order N466 “of measures of flu and other acute respiratory viral infections prevention in epidemic season” from August 22, 2008, in which were regulated necessary prophylactic and antiepidemic measures for pre-epidemic and epidemic development seasons, was determined an advisable regime of work at the period of increase of morbidity in medical, preschool and general organizations.
For the purpose of taking of operative antiepidemic measures, from October of this year was begun weekly monitoring of population’s morbidity condition.
ARVI
In connection with beginning of epidemic season, all ASSEC (Agencies of State Sanitary-Epidemiological Control) of oblasts and Astana and Almaty were sent with telephone messages about strengthening of prophylactic and antiepidemic campaigns in medical, preschool and general education organizations, in airports and railway stations and activization of community health among population.
