Today on the conference call of the Government of RK the results of Public Health authorities’ activity for 10 months of the current year were considered.
The Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anatoliy Dernovoy in his extensive report touched upon the issue of a number of critical problems – such as realization of the project “100 schools, 100 hospitals”, struggle against tuberculosis and AIDS, maternity and infant mortality and problems of supplying with medicines.
The Head of Government, Karim Massimov, who has also heard all Akims’ reports, emphasized that the essential problem is concluded in a low-quality medical work.
For the last years a size of medical services has considerably increased. For 10 months at hospital organizations 2 million and 700 thousand people received treatment. Emergency ambulance arrived for 4.5 million calls. At the same time the number of patients’ complaints has increased. In 2008 there were examined more than 1.5 thousand complaints and applications, and not all from them were taken with adequate measures. The maximal number of complaints has been registering in Astana and Almaty cities and Pavlodar oblast. Complaints for low-quality medical assistance have been coming from South-Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Zhambyl, East-Kazakhstan oblasts and Almaty.
The emerged situation of the Public Health in the country has become a cause of resignations of quite a number of officials of the central bodies and main ministry’s territorial subdivisions.
On the conference call of the Government the Prime-Minister of RK Karim Massimov set very clear goals for the Ministry of Public Health and Akims, on implementation of assignments of the Head of the Government.
“Appreciation is strict, but absolutely objective and, first of all, directed not for criticism but for work improving” – considers the Minister of Public Health Anatoliy Dernovoy.
