In the issue of gastroenterologists’ theoretical and practical forum “Precursor of cancer in gastroenterology. Modern diagnostics, treatment and prevention techniques”, was adopted the resolution.

During two days, October 30–31, 2008, on the basis of recently opened Republic Consultation and Diagnostics Center, there was held a significant theoretical and practical forum of gastroenterologists of our country – the VI international conference named as “Precursor of cancer in gastroenterology. Modern diagnostics, treatment and prevention techniques”. At the work of conference participated more than 200 general practitioners of various specialties (gastroenterologists, physicians, oncologists, endoscopists, infectious diseases specialists, pediatricians etc.), having come from all the regions of Kazakhstan; workers of higher education and research institutes, public health organizers and students. Professors from Germany, Russia, Ukraine as well as domestic scientists, presented modern achievements in gastroenterology.

The conference was devoted to early detection and modern methods of treatment of diseases and pathological stages, which can be transformed under certain conditions to cancer: gullet pathology; gastritis and stomach and duodenum ulcer; bowels inflammatory diseases; the liver and pancreas affection of various aetiologies etc. Special attention was paid to the problems of prevention of oncological diseases development, that is cancer-prevention, which is now has to be the main direction in work of every physician.

In the issue of conference’ work there was adopted a resolution, where were resumed some results of development of gastroenterological assistance system, concerning population of Kazakhstan and laid down it’s development perspectives. These perspectives are following: necessity of creation of national programs of screening of alimentary organs’ precursors of cancer, including the problems of cancer prevention; epidemiological researches on prevalence of infectious agents – risk factors of digestive system’s cancer development. Appointed the necessity of mobilization of all the services of diagnosing and treatment of such patients as well as expansion of educational programs among students, physicians, and professors of higher education institutes and involving of mass media in this problem.

The World organization of gastroenterologists announced that prevention of alimentary organ’s cancer is a World action of XXI century.
