The Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a central executive authority, which directs and, in the range stipulated by the Law, realizes inter-sectoral coordination in the field of citizens’ health protection and medical and pharmaceutical education.

The principal problems of the Ministry are: to create a state policy in the field of protection of population’s health, medical science, medical and pharmaceutical education; to organize supplying of population and treatment-and-prophylaxis organizations with safety, effective and qualitative medicines; to organize and develop international collaboration in the range of Ministry’s competence.

The Ministry has the following agencies: the Committee of national sanitary-and-epidemiological control, the Committee of Pharmacy and the Committee of medical services quality control.

The Ministry implements its activity in accordance with the Constitution and the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the acts of the President and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the other legal acts and the present Decree.

The Ministry is a juridical authority in the legal-organizational form of state institution. It has seals and stamps with its own appellations in official language, fixed forms, and according to the Law, bank accounts in the Exchequer agencies of the Ministry of Finance of RK.

The Ministry starts civil terms in its own name.

In case of authorizing by the Law the Ministry has a right in the name of the state to be one of the parts in civil terms.

The Ministry takes solutions in the range of its competence, which are formalized by the orders of the Minister and valid on the territory of Kazakhstan.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan confirms the limit of state number of the Ministry.
